When the grinding wheel is worn to the original radius, it must be replaced

‌The grinding wheel must be replaced when it is worn to one-third of the original radius‌. This is in accordance with the provisions of 3.5.11.2 of the "Safety Work Regulations for Power Construction (Part 3: Substation)" (DL5009.3-2013). The grinding wheel must be replaced when the effective radius of the grinding wheel is worn to one-third of the original radius. ‌

Technical parameters of diamond grinding wheels

The coarseness of artificial diamond grains is indicated by the grain size number. The coarseness of the grain size directly affects the surface roughness of the workpiece, the grinding efficiency and the abrasive tool loss. In principle, the grain size should be selected as coarse as possible under the condition of meeting the requirements of the workpiece, which can improve the grinding efficiency and reduce the abrasive tool loss. (See the table below) Diamond grain sizes are generally divided into 30# to W1.
